General presentation
The constellation of Auriga is a bright constellation in the northern hemisphere visible mainly in winter. It is easily recognizable by Capella, the sixth brightest star in the night sky. Located near the constellations of Taurus, Gemini and Perseus, it is an excellent landmark to explore the winter sky. Le Cocher also contains several open clusters that are popular with amateur astronomers.
