Visualize in real time the position of the Scorpius constellation in the sky.
General presentation
The constellation of Scorpio is one of the most spectacular zodiac constellations in the night sky. Visible mainly in summer in the northern hemisphere, it is easily identifiable thanks to its red star Antares, often compared to Mars by its color. Located on the ecliptic, it crosses a very rich region of the Milky Way, making it a privileged destination for the observation of star clusters, nebulae and other deep sky objects.
Shape of the Scorpius constellation
The constellation of Scorpio has a very evocative silhouette that clearly recalls a scorpion. Its stars draw a long curve representing the body and tail of the animal, ending in a recurved stinger. Antares marks the heart of Scorpio, while the stars to the west are pincers. It is one of the few constellations whose shape is easily recognizable to the naked eye.
