Rotation and revolution of the Moon
The moon has a rotation and revolution period of 27.32 days.
Its orbit is inclined by 6.687° relative to the ecliptic.
It is in synchronous rotation with the Earth: its rotation is synchronized with its revolution, so it always shows the same face seen from the Earth.
The Moon is always half-lit by the Sun and it moves around the Earth, seen from the Earth this illuminated part changes shape, this is what are called lunar phases.
The distance between the Moon and the Earth varies; when a full moon is at its closest point to the Earth, it is referred to as the Super Moon.
